Black, White & Emerald Green Wedding | Sarah & Zac | June 2022
How They Met:
Sarah and Zac are the cutest! They met on a blind date when a friend set them up and Sarah bravely went to Zac’s house for their first date. He cooked her an amazing meal, they had a great conversation and the rest is history!
What Made This Wedding Special:
The bride, Sarah has an amazing eye for details, aesthetic and decor and you could tell in every detail throughout the day.
We were able to mix styles of classic, organic with a touch of rustic and hint of hunting as a nod to Zac’s love of hunting and all things outdoors. If you look closely you can see elk horns in the centerpieces and pheasant feathers in the boutonnieres. Don’t forget about their hunting dog, Georgia who was also a feature on many items and made her debut as the flower girl too.
Sarah’s mom, who had recently passed away was also ever present throughout the day and with Sarah and Zac. Sarah had a patch with her handwriting sewn into her dress, a pin with her photo pinned to her bouquet; a special seat at the ceremony and her photo displayed amid a special candle on the guestbook table.
What the Wedding Day Was Like:
It was a warm, sunny day in June with the threat of a rain shower. We moved forward with the ceremony outdoors on the gorgeous patio at Cafe Postale under the overcast sky and edison lights above shining. The weather was warm and balmy for the reception and everyone enjoyed the evening until the wee hours in the morning.
About the Wedding Venues they Chose:
Throughout the wedding planning process, we explored many venues to find the perfect spot. Sarah and Zac loved the rich history, charm, and colors of the Cottonwood Hotel but unfortunately that venue was unable to accommodate their wedding so we searched elsewhere.
They went with the patio at Cafe Postale for their reception as they loved the boxwood walls that lined the patio along with the edison bulb lights glowing from above. It’s mix of charm and history drew them in right away.
Then for the reception - they decided on the Pella as they loved the high ceilings, rustic look and open but cozy feel.
The Color Palette:
Sarah and Zac fell in love with the color palette from the Cottonwood Hotel which includes black, white, emerald green and hints of gold.
We took that and ran with it using emerald for the invitation and bringing it in elsewhere through the luscious greenery used as decor.
About the Decor:
There were so many great details and unique touches throughout the day - it’s hard to choose just one but the mirror that was used as the seating chart was incredible. Sarah bought the mirror to use in their home after the wedding so it was a win win to use it for the seating chart and then decor piece in their home!
How S.Lukas & Company helped with their day:
As their planner, I was able to help keep things organized and on track. In addition, I was helpful in connecting them with vendors and helping to make sure their vision came to life.
