Vendor Highlight | M.Julie Photography
Julie Borer - the face behind the camera at M.Julie Photography is one of my favorite vendors. She makes you feel amazing when she takes your photos and then when you get them back - you are even more blown away by her talents.

About Julie and M.Julie Photo
Tell us about your business!
Here at M. Julie Photo, my job is to document wedding days in an honest manner, focusing more on the important people present, and the events unfolding naturally in front of me. When twenty years have passed, I want couples to look back through their photos and remember the day as it happened. For me, it's an absolute honor to be invited to witness and document such an important day for couples and their families, but also to see it essentially from a front row seat. That takes a lot of trust, and I don't take that for granted.
What inspired you to start your business?
I've been documenting life with my camera since I was little, but it took my very own wedding to inspire me to start photographing weddings. It was clear to see that some of our vendors didn't have our best interests at heart, which added unnecessary stress. When I looked around, I saw that many vendors were treating other couples in this manner, which was disheartening. I decided then to join the industry with the intent on treating couples as I wish I had been treated, and I haven't looked back since.
What advice do you have for wedding couples?
Plan your wedding day in a manner that will be enjoyable to you! It doesn't matter if your friends did it differently, or some wedding publication is pushing you to do something else. Your wedding day isn't a photoshoot (that's what your engagement session is for), so resist trying to make it one. Spend less time posing for photos, spend more time with your friends and family, and just have fun! Those are the memories you'll be happiest with in the end!
Where Do You Gather Inspiration?
Every wedding and couple is vastly different, as are their stories. It's important for me to take inspiration from that, not what I see in magazines or from other photographers.
What do you do when you are NOT working on weddings?
My husband and I love to travel and explore. We're both very active, whether it's running (which is how we met), cycling, backpacking, hiking, etc. Family is also very important, so we take any opportunity to travel out to see them! When we're not out and about, we really enjoy downtime at home with our lazy cats :)
Any fun @instagram accounts to follow?
No, I'm terrible at social media. Spend less time on Instagram, and more time outside!
